Sin is Sin Right?

So for the past couple of months I've been spending a lot of time on the vigilant citizen message boards and I come across some people who just seem to think that they are the mouthpieces for God.

Why is it that some Christians feel that they need to judge people based on their sins. Shouldn't we pray for the sinners seeing as we are also sinners. It just makes me mad that people do this, I know it's judging on my part, but at the same time, some use the bible to justify judging people.

Put simply, I know it wasn't what Jesus wanted. I think he wanted us to love everyone no matter what (love the person, hate the sin). This whole issue of protesting the gays makes no sense. Why don't those same people get up and protest against ALL sin. Why don't they talk to the "gays" in a  peaceful, tolerant way?

We are not to be the judge of others sins, for we are supposed to avoid sin ourselves and ENCOURAGE others to. I have been called a 'fake' Christian because I beleive that the approach should be peaceful, rather than forceful. Does that make me wrong? I'm not denying Jesus or God, but my approach is much different than a lot. What is my turnover rate? I have no clue, but I do know that when you go about things the right way, you get better results.

I just can't wrap my head around how people don't get this. Why do they feel it THEIR job to point out sin in others but not look inwards and fix themselves! I am very much a sinner and I try my very best to do what's right, no matter what the consequences may be. Is my way wrong? I know it isn't.

I prayed and asked God to guide me on the proper path and help me do his will and not that of man's. Every time I read parts of the bible I do it with his guidance and he always points me to passages about peace, kindness, and humility. Isn't that what he truly wants? Wasn't he the one who said to turn the other cheek and basically said that we should be altruistic for our good deeds show our love and without love, we have nothing.

Here's to everyone out there that stands up for what is right. Keep it up, we may be belittled, we may be called fake, we may be called liars, but if we show the world love, then we are doing what is right. Peace and love all.

  1. Hope you're not talkin bout me there haha.
I really hate it when people do that. They're probably sinning more with their hate than the gay or whoever in question, but that's not really up to me. Love your blog ST:)

  2. A persons judgment is primarily comprised of three things.

    1. Personal Experience
    2. Education
    3. Religious Training

Taken these into account, one can see why confident incompetents would emotionally lash out at what they either can't understand or won't understand. Either way,its hard to overcome obstacles which one can't fully understand...

  4. He is talking about my works.

I created all of your beliefs AND your wants.

But I have not created ANY OF YOUR NEEDS.

You are all doomed to worship me through endless consumption of God's creation, all the while denying and remaining ignorant of the fact that you partake of MY creation.

    MUHUHUHUHAHAHAHA

  5. We are not suppose to judge out of hate mongering or malice. But the Bible says "man looks on the outside", in everyday living without thought we judge.

2 Corinthians 2:14-15 says, "The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The one who is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is understood by no one."

If you believe that the Holy Spirit within all of us is a guide in a teacher. I believe that judging no matter how wrong it may seem can be viewed as a wake up call to fix whatever problem you may have.

If someone worse off in your opinion. Judges you or points out a flaw. Maybe it is something to consider, even though they are in sin themselves. If someone can look at your situation in their mess of a life and with the self-righteous gall to voice it to you. Something might need fixing.

  6. Have you met Brother ROss? he does the exact thing you and every Christian hates. Condemns everyone. I really enjoyed reading this because I feel the same way and I actually blogged about this last night. (Kinda glad I chose to read this) Why do we have to yell at people to get them to change? When has debating or simply shooting out someone's flaws ever motivated someone to change. Its by motivation that people will change so why not the motivation of God's love? (here is a copy of what I posted last night)I have such a passion about God's love for me and for all of! Its so unreal, unexplainable and yet something blocks us from experiencing a kind of love your soul mate couldn't provide for you. That something is sin. Because God is perfect, we can easily understand why We are separated from Him (Think of how we try so hard to keep spaghetti sauce off of our nice white shirts). God, because He is so perfect, has the right to punish us for our sin but He also loves us so much that we provided us with a way out. God sent His perfect son Jesus to come and live with us dirty spaghetti sauce covered humans. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life while hanging out with thieves, murders, poor, sick, outcasts and "the rich and famous." But how does Jesus help us stained t-shirts into being with God and not receiving the punishment we deserve? Jesus was perfect, pure and could be with God. Jesus like God, loved us soooo much! He loved strangers more than himself. He knew the punishment that was in store for everyone, so he gave himself up to take that punishment for us. Jesus took God's wrath and the justice from us so that we too could be with God. We are able to have a real relationship with God and avoid His powerful anger and wrath. But Jesus did not stop there. Jesus rose from the dead and came back to life to prove that God is greater than sin and death. By believing in that Jesus took my sin from me so that I can be with God, I feel God's love, and I have his Holy Spirit to guide me.

    Sorry this is long.

  7. BTW you are not a fake christian. If you claim unashamedly that you believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again all because of the love of God, and you want Jesus Christ to not only be your savior but your Lord of your life, then you are a Christian.
